Kids Games for a Mad Hatter Tea Party
Send children to a land of wonder, adventure and awe, where madness is encouraged and silliness is required, by hosting a Mad Hatter tea party filled with nonsensical games and fun activities. Encourage children to dress up in their favorite wonderland costumes and remind them not to be late! Does this Spark an idea?
-
Make Your Own Hat and Tea Set
-
Set out black plastic top hats with boxes of pipe cleaners, glitter, pom poms, ribbon, lace and construction paper as well as glue. Have children decorate their own mad hatter top hat to wear for the duration of the party. Similarly, you may lie out white teapots and teacups as well as paint so guests may decorate their own tea sets to take home.
Pin the Grin on the Cat
-
That sneaky Cheshire Cat always appears with a mischievous grin. Play an Alice in Wonderland variation of pin the tail on the donkey with a cut out of the Cheshire Cat and his wide grin. Apply adhesive fabric fastener over top of the cat's mouth. Draw a smile on white cardboard to use as the mouth; apply the other half of the fabric fastener to the back of the mouth. Tie a ribbon over the child's eyes and spin him around. See who can stick the mouth closest to the correct spot.

Mad Hatter Scavenger Hunt
-
Hide various items such as a stuffed white rabbit, golden keys, teacups, colorful mushrooms and a vial filled with glitter and water throughout the party area. Give the children a list of the items and send them on an Easter-egg style hunt.
Mad Hatter Letter Mix-up
-
Divide the children into two teams. Give each team a large piece of construction paper with the words "MAD HATTER" written at the top. Each team needs to create new words from the letters made of mad hatter. Whoever has the most words at the end of an allotted time wins.
