Laminated Bookmark Crafts
Laminated bookmarks can be made to any size, and embellished by punching a hole at one end then threading with a tassel or leather cord. Success when laminating depends on the plastic sealing properly all around the laminated item, so only laminate flat objects or papers.

Pressed Flowers
-
Pick flower petals and small leaves after the sun has dried off all the morning dew. Choose individual petals that can lie flat, rather than whole flower heads. Dry the petals and leaves in the microwave by sandwiching them first in wax paper and putting them in the oven on a low setting for a few seconds. Check every few seconds until they're dried. Once dried, arrange the flower petals and leaves on a strip of card stock, then laminate the card stock with the flower petals.
Bank Notes
-
Photocopy dollar bills or foreign bank notes left over from vacations. Scan them on a home scanner then print them out in black and white, making sure they're 75 percent smaller than legal tender so as not to infringe banknote copying laws. Copy the front and back of the bank note, print them out, then cut both images and glue them together back to back. Laminate them so that the two sheets of paper give the appearance of a single complete note, different on the front and back. An alternative to real banknotes is to copy monopoly money.

Kids' Art
-
Preserve kids' works of art by laminating them in useful bookmarks. Ask kids to paint on bookmark-sized strips of construction paper, or scan and shrink larger paintings to print and cut out to the desired size. Have the kids make fingerprint artwork then laminate the original prints into bookmarks. These make lovely keepsakes for the both parents and grandparents.
Photographs
-
Laminate photos of scenes, places or buildings to remind you of vacation times or special-event celebrations, or loved ones. Both individual photos or collages of photos are suitable to make into laminated bookmarks. To make a collage, cut up photos then glue parts of them onto construction paper cut to the size you want for the bookmark. Crop whole photos into bookmark-sized blocks then laminate the photo. For bookmarks with images on both sides, place photos back to back or glue them onto both sides of a strip of construction paper.
