Fun Date Activities for Men

Plan dates that leave men wanting to go on more!

Dates are often planned with the woman in mind. Watching a chick flick or going to the mall (unless shopping for sexy lingerie) are often one-sided dates, satisfying women but leaving men thinking of other places they could be -- if it weren't for women. Rather than make men pay for a woman's attention and the desire to be with her, level the dating game and go on dates that men enjoy, too.

  1. Spontaneous Get-Away

    • Surprise your man with a planned get-away for the two of you. Plan all the details yourself. Think about his interests and things that he has mentioned he would like to do or see. Plan activities for the get-away based on his interests. Does he like museums or nightlife? Depending on your budget, go on a day trip, a road trip or fly somewhere for a weekend. So he doesn't make other plans, make up some other commitment he will need to be available for. Make dinner reservations some place you think he will like and bring clothes so you can dress up for him.

    Sports Event

    • Buy tickets to a sporting event you know he would like to attend. Or if that is out of the question, plan an evening watching a sports game either at a bar or at home with him. If you don't normally follow sports, learn a little about how the game works ahead of time so you understand the game and know when and why to cheer. If going to a live event, sneak in a special snack, like some heart-shaped cookies you baked in advance. If watching a game at home, consider renting a big screen TV for the day. Make finger-food snacks for the game.

    Get Outdoors

    • Take your date outdoors. No matter the season or where you live, there are plenty of places to go. If you need help planning, contact the local tourist office and ask for suggestions. Consider asking your date's family or friends for suggestions. For example, if he frequent a place when he was a kid, take him back there! Bring a picnic basket with a lunch you prepared for the occasion. Go on a hike, ski, kayak or whatever else he fancies. If nothing comes to mind, try something new like zip-lining. Bring a camera to get some shots of him having fun.

    Cook a Special Meal

    • Men are known to love food, maybe even as much as they love women. So what could be better than giving a man the two things he loves on a date. If he likes to cook too, reserve two spots in a cooking class and create a meal together. If cooking is not his thing, then cook him a meal. Make something special: his favorite dish, a themed meal such as Mexican or Chinese or just make a fancy dinner menu. Set the table elegantly, dress to impress him, set the mood with music and candlelight and let him see how much effort you made to please him. Men enjoy seeing you go out of your way for them once in a while.
