Three Wise Men Crafts and Activities
Many Christians celebrate Three Kings Day on January 6. It commemorates the three wise men's visit to the baby Christ. They worshiped Him and gave gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Three Kings Day, also known as The Adoration of the Magi, is the official end of the Christmas season. Besides sending cards, hanging mistletoe and caroling, there are several activities your family can share on Three Kings Day. Does this Spark an idea?

Gift Giving, Epiphany Style
-
The song "The Twelve Days of Christmas" is great as an accompaniment to gift giving. The character in the song receives a new gift each day from his one true love, God. The gifts range from a partridge in a pear tree to 12 leaping lords. Each gift has Christian symbolism. The partridge in the pear tree is Christ; the two turtle doves are the Old and New Testaments; and the three French hens represent faith, hope and love. Family members receive a gift, treat or dessert each day from December 25 to January 6. The "big gift" should be opened on the last day to celebrate Christ's receiving gifts from the Magi.
The Feast of the Epiphany
-
Christmas dinner is the first "big meal" of the Christmas season. The Feast of the Epiphany is the second. Before this meal, take down the Christmas tree and all other decorations. You can either finish off the holiday leftovers for the Feast of the Epiphany, or have a small turkey, chicken, or ham. During the feast, each participant shares his resolutions and hopes for the new year.

King's Cake
-
Each "king's cake" contains a small toy or doll. Families in France, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Spain and the United States exchange king's cake as part of the Epiphany celebration. The family member who receives the piece of cake with the toy is king for the day.
Baby Jesus Earplug Nativity Scene
-
To build this, you will need six disposable earplugs, scissors, whiteout, tape, rectangular tissue box, white tissue and three gold thumbtacks. Cut off the top of the tissue box. Wrap it in white tissue paper, creating a manger. Paint faces on the earplugs with the whiteout. Place a thumb tack in the head of each wise man, making a crown. A basic manger scene requires Mary, Joseph, Jesus and the three kings: Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar. Use more earplug people for a larger manger scene.
