Homemade Funny Couple Halloween Costumes

You can create couple's costumes for Halloween events.

If you do not have enough money to purchase humorous couple's costumes or you can't find the costumes you want in stores, create them yourself. Many of the items needed to create a costume can be found around the house, while a few pieces, such as wigs, may need to be purchased.

Forrest Gump and Lt. Dan

Forrest Gump and Lt. Dan costumes are simple to make at home. For Forrest Gump, wear slacks and any short-sleeved, striped or plaid shirt with a collar. The shirt should be tucked in, and the pants need a belt. Your hair should be short and black.

For Lt. Dan, a wheelchair is used as the prop for the costume. The hippy-style outfit includes a long black wig, a headband, any old T-shirt, jeans and a dog collar.

Old Couple

To dress as an elderly couple, each person should wear a gray wig and plaid or flower-print clothes. Glasses can be used to make the costume more realistic. If you want more humorous elements, stuff a pillow in your pants, dress or skirt to give the illusion of a big fanny. Use any broom or mop around the house as a walking stick.

Sweepstakes Winner

Dress as a Publishers Clearing House winner and the guy who hands out the check. The man with the check should wear a suit and tie, with a badge that says prize patrol. The prize winner should wear a robe and face mask, and have curlers in her hair. Have the man carry balloons and a big check made of foam or cardboard for the winner.

Beetlejuice and Lydia

Lydia and Beetlejuice from "Beetlejuice" are good characters for costumes. Lydia can wear any long red dress or you can create a long dress using red fabric. She should have black hair.

Beetlejuice needs a gray wig styled to look messy. His outfit consists of a suit with a ruffled shirt and a bowtie. He has white makeup over his face, black mascara around the eyes and green makeup around the mouth.

Flintstones

Create Flintstones costumes using a toga-style, white dress and any animal-print clothes. Put the woman's hair in a pony tail with a hair clip. The man should wear an animal print vest with no shirt and cargo shorts, or a knee-length, animal-print outfit. If you don't have an animal-print vest, you can make one by sewing orange fabric into a vest and attaching black stripes or spots to it to make the print.

Chucky and Bride

Recreate Chucky and his bride from movie fame. Reuse an old wedding dress or wear any long, white dress for the bride. She also needs a blonde wig, and her makeup should include black lipstick. Chucky needs a red wig, overalls and a plaid shirt.
