What Is Warped Text?
Whether you use desktop publishing or word processing software, you can add interesting and cool effects that make your words standout in your documents. Many programs allow you to incorporate the warp text effects with the simple click of a mouse. Warping lets you manipulate selected text into different shapes or bend it into random directions.

Warped Text
-
Warped text sits along an irregular path, such as a circle, swirl or curve. Depending on the software program, it may be difficult to create, especially when trying to select the appropriate path. However, other software programs have limited capabilities and may only offer a few irregular shape options to use.
Online Sites
-
Some websites allows you to create warped text for web pages without writing any HTML or CSS coding yourself. For instance, CSS Warp (csswarp.eleqtriq.com) converts text to a path and supplies you with the correct code to add to the website. Simply type your text in the box, select the font and choose the various shapes, by dragging the text with your mouse. When you select "Generate HTML," the website supplies you with the HTML code.
Another website that allows you to create and generate warp text is Text Space (textspace.net). It offers an array of warp text styles, such as animal prints, blinking text and camouflage fill patterns. Change the way the words appear by selecting the size, shadow and spacing. You also have the ability to download your creation to your desktop as an image file, or hit a button to generate the necessary HTML or CSS code.

Desktop Publishing
-
Desktop publishing programs, such as Photoshop, have an assortment of warping text options. You have the ability to manipulate your text into an array of shapes -- such as fish and flag shapes -- or you can create bulging letters. In this program, you can alter the direction of the text or alter the arches and bend of the letters.
Office Programs
-
PowerPoint allows you to add style to the text in your presentations; while Word lets you change the look of the text in your document. Some of the warp text features included in both programs enable you to create circular objects and wavy lines out of your words. Transform the text in Microsoft Word or PowerPoint using the Drawing Tools tab and selecting the “Text Effects” button under the “Word Art Styles” menu.
