Kindergarten Craft for "The Wheels on the Bus Go Round & Round"
One of the iconic songs most young kids learn very young is "The Wheels on the Bus (Go Round and Round)." The melody is simple, it's interactive and it gives kids the chance to make lots of funny noises. Creating craft projects that relate to the song is a good way to keep a kindergartner's interest while helping to improve his art skills.

School Bus Egg Carton Craft
-
Use the lid of an egg carton and turn it into a school bus. If you are doing this in a large class, ask parents to donate the lids. Cut out some black wheels from construction paper, use yellow paint or markers for the bus body and a black marker to write "School Bus" along the top. Additionally, you can have the kids cut out figures from construction paper to put in the "windows."
Sing Along Drawings
-
Create pictures that can be used to illustrate the sections of the song. Ask one child to draw a horn and another a wheel. Then as the kids sing the various verses of the song, each child can hold up the appropriate drawing and make the noise that goes along with the picture. Have the children swap drawings and sing again with their new picture.

The Shapes of the Bus
-
Cut out triangle, square and rectangle shapes from black and yellow construction paper that can be used to create the shape of the school bus. Ask the children to create their own bus using the shapes, and assist them in gluing the finished bus to a larger piece of poster board. Have them create a landscape for the bus to drive on, complete with signs, road and sky.
Windows on the Bus
-
Ask the children to draw a picture of something they see when they ride a school bus. Ask the children to describe their drawing and whether they've ever taken a city bus or other kind of bus ride. Talk about the various ways children can get to school and have them role-play being a bus driver, day care worker or parent.
