Beaded Wine Glasses Craft Project

Wine glasses are typically purchased in groups of the same style.

When all wine glasses at a party look the same, you may find it difficult to locate yours. To solve this problem, decorate your wine glass with beads to make your wine glass identifiable and unique. Beads also have the added benefit of giving a plain wine glass a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. For a wine glass project, you can make your own bead arrangement to wrap around the glass stem.

  1. Preparation

    • Purchase beads and beading wire from a craft or jewelry store. These materials are also available online. There are many types of beads - such as glass beads, wooden beads and shell beads - you can use. Cut the wire into as many 1 1/2-inch lengths that you require. You will require one piece of wire per glass. Arrange the beads for each glass in the configuration or pattern you desire.

    Craft the Wire

    • Twist the end of the wire with needle-nose pliers to create a small loop. This will form the clasp on which the other end of the wire will attach. The beads will hang around the neck of the glass.

    Attach the Beads

    • Feed the beads onto the wire in the desired configuration. You can also add a hanging charm with a loop. Hang it halfway through the bead configuration or at the end of it. This is a good effect to make the glass more identifiable if you have a number of different charm colors or styles.

    Finish the Design

    • Bend the loose end of the wire into a hook using the needle-nose pliers. Wrap the design around the neck of the wine glass and attach the hooked end onto the looped end. Close the hook into a loop with the pliers to fully secure it. Repeat the steps on all the wine glasses to personalize them and make them easy to be identified.
