Bayliner Capri Stereo Options
The Bayliner Capri utilizes a standard stereo opening that in the automotive industry is called a "single din" stereo. This means that you can use the same kind of radio in your Bayliner Capri that you would use in your car. Your radio options with this single-din stereo system include such things as satellite radio, video and CD- and MP3-compatible head units. For most units, you will have to use an adapter to connect the boat's wiring harness, but this is available where you purchase the stereo from.

AM/FM CD Players
-
Compact disc players are a basic audio component that you can install on your Bayliner Capri. The benefit behind installing basic components like these is their inexpensive price, ready availability, and the ease with which they are installed. On the other hand, if you do choose this route, you have to keep in mind that you should purchase a head unit that features antiskip capability for when the waves begin to get rough.
MP3-Compatible Stereos
-
MP3-compatible stereo head units are uniquely suited to life on board your Bayliner Capri. They feature AM/FM stereo functionality combined with the ability to play music from your iPod or other MP3 device. The benefit to using such a device is that even in the roughest conditions, your music will not skip the way it would if you were playing a CD. In addition, you need far less storage space to carry many thousands more songs with you on your excursion.

Fold-out Video Screens
-
Fold-out video screens can be installed into your Bayliner Capri, which offer two distinct advantages. You can use such screens for GPS guidance as well as AM/FM functionality, and usually MP3 players, as well. In addition, you can use the fold-out screen to view movies and other images. The drawback to this is that the touch-screen controls can often be difficult to see in bright sunlight. If you enjoy night fishing, fold-out video screens are excellent choices, but if most of your boating is done during the day, you may want to consider other options.
Satellite Radio
-
Satellite radio subscriptions can be utilized by your Bayliner Capri in one of two ways. You can opt for an add-on unit that makes your existing head unit more practical, or you can choose to install a replacement head unit that features satellite radio capability. There are literally hundreds of different music and talk radio options available, but the drawback is that you have to pay a monthly subscription fee to access the satellite. However, if you already have a satellite subscription in one of your other vehicles, you may be able to add a receiver to your boat using the same subscription, depending on the terms of your subscription.
