Meteorology majors generally pursue careers in weather prediction and atmospheric research.

Meteorology is the study of atmospheric weather systems, and meteorology students pursue careers in areas such as weather prediction and atmospheric research. There are two national sources of scholarship support for meteorology students: the American Society for Meteorology and the National Weather Association. Between these two sources, there are several national scholarship programs available to college freshman majoring in meteorology. In addition to these programs, some universities offer scholarships to freshmen studying meteorology; be sure to check on all available scholarships offered by the institution you attend.
