Grandparents mean a lot to your baby's life.

Grandparents are a special part of any child's life. National Grandparents Day is celebrated every year in September, and it is a perfect opportunity to do something nice for your baby's grandparents. While your baby might not be able to do much to help, you can create thoughtful gifts and projects to let your parents know just how much they mean to your child.

Tree

Planting a tree can create a lifetime bond.

A tree can be a symbol of life and represent a bond between your baby and his grandparents. Choose a tree that has special meaning to your baby and his grandparents. A cherry tree symbolizes rebirth and a holly tree symbolizes protection. Plant the tree together as a family, and watch it grow for years to come. The tree can be a reminder of the love and affection between your baby and his grandparents, even after the grandparents have passed on.

Photo Collage

Your baby's grandparents will cherish photos of her.

Grandparents love pictures, and they especially love pictures of their grandchildren. Create a photo collage of as many pictures as you can find from your baby's first months of life. Bonding with a grandchild is one of life's greatest joys.

Choose a day -- other than National Grandparents Day -- that will have special meaning to your baby and her grandparents. Allow your baby to sleep at her grandparent's home once a week to give her uninterrupted time with them. Let your baby's grandparents take her on a weekly outing for lunch and shopping. The point is to allow your baby's grandparents to spend time with her and create that special bond, which will continue to grow well past the toddler years.
