Locker Mirror Crafts
Many students keep a mirror in their locker to check grooming during the day. Locker mirrors usually come in a plastic frame with a magnet on the back so it will stay in place on the inside of the locker door or against the back of the locker. Dress up your locker mirror with a few simple items that will keep you smiling.

Accentuate the Positive
-
Consider what you see when you look into the mirror. If you are more likely to criticize yourself than smile, add some positive affirmations to your mirror. Take a permanent pen and use calligraphy to write some of your favorite positive statements around the edges of your mirror. Include such statements as “I am a capable and wise student” or “I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.” Alternatively, use a water-based overhead projector pen and change the messages frequently. Remember to read the messages to yourself as you check the mirror.
Handy Grooming Tools
-
Sew two 4-by-5-inch fabric pockets together using a colorful cotton broadcloth. Add small strip magnets to the back of the pocket at the top and bottom edges. Hot glue the pockets to the sides of the mirror. Add a half-inch strip of the same fabric to the top and bottom edge of the mirror to frame the mirror and pockets. Hot glue craft sticks to the sides of the pocket to give the top fabric strip stability. Add a few grooming tools such as a comb, toothbrush, breath strips or dental picks to your pocket for quick grooming repairs.

Add Some Bling
-
Add some sparkle and love to your locker mirror with a hot glue gun and a few decorating supplies. Choose gem hearts or stars to decorate the corners of your mirror and glue them into place. Use small dots of glue and a pair of tweezers to place smaller crystal bead chips around the edges of the mirror. Add a metal crown to the top edge of your mirror and decorate it with crystal chips. Remind yourself you are valuable and awesome when you catch your reflection in the mirror.
Frame It
-
Locate a mat frame at your local hobby shop or create your own by cutting the center out of a piece of cardstock. Decorate the frame with stickers, adhesive shapes, swirls of paint or swaths of glitter glue. Ask your best supporters to add messages of encouragement to the frame. Hot glue the frame to the mirror. Add small magnets to the four corners of the frame back to give your mirror more stability on the locker.
