Game Freezes on ISO
An ISO is a single file that contains an image, or copy, of a CD or DVD. Freezing during the installation of a game ISO is usually caused by the virtual drive's inability to read the file. To install a game ISO, the image is mounted using a virtual drive and then displays under My Computer just like a physical disc. Lack of PC maintenance and other applications on your computer can also interfere with the installation.

Be Patient
-
When the PC game is installed, the files stored in the ISO are copied to a default location on the hard drive. Some files are compressed, and takes longer to copy due to the time needed to extract them. During this time, the installation might appear to hang even though it is still working in the background. The completion indicator will seem stuck, and may not move for quite some time, depending on the speed of your processor, hard drive and memory. Let the setup program run for at least 15 minutes before concluding there is a problem.
Disable Your Antivirus
-
Antivirus programs are designed to check each file that is being written or read to the drive. This can interfere with the installation, either slowing it down or sometimes stopping it altogether. Right-click antivirus icon in the bottom right corner, and click "Disable." Continue the installation, then enable your protection afterwards. Alternatively, go to "Settings," then "Exclusions." Add the ISO to the list so it won't be scanned unnecessarily.

Run Maintenance
-
While the files are being written to the hard drive, fragmentation and a lack of free space causes freezing. Fragmentation causes slowdowns due to the increased time it takes to access the drive. Check the minimum requirements for the game to find out the specifications needed. Go to "Computer," and look below the C drive icon to see how much space you have available. Run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter from the start menu to correct these issues.
Replace the ISO
-
ISOs are ripped from the original disc and usually distributed over the Internet. If your other backups work fine, it is possible that you have a bad copy. This is usually due to a bad rip or corruption that occurred during the download. Re-download the file, or search for alternate copies from a different source.
