Resume Ideas for a Flight Attendant
Flight attendants see to the needs of airplane passengers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, major airlines increasingly prefer flight attendants to possess a college degree or complete flight attendant training. Knowing what to include in your resume for a flight attendant position can also increase your chances of gaining employment. The BLS indicates that the median annual wage for flight attendants in the United States was $35,930 as of May 2008.

Emphasize Customer Service

A primary requirement of the flight attendant position is the ability to deliver a high level of customer service. As a result, make your previous customer service experience a focal point of your resume. Analyze your previous jobs to identify duties requiring you to attend to the needs of customers, and include them in your resume. According to the Great Resume Example website, it can be beneficial to use phrases such as "customer service," "client service" and "guest service" frequently in the resume, as many are scanned for key words.
Language and Cultural Experiences

Flight attendants frequently deal with passengers from different countries and with various cultural backgrounds. If you've traveled frequently and have experienced a variety of cultures, include some of these experiences in your resume. The ability to speak a number of languages can also give you an advantage, so list all languages in which you are fluent, as well as any language training you might have completed.

The airline industry is highly conscious of safety, especially in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. An important responsibility of flight attendants is to ensure the safety of their passengers, even though they spend most of their time performing customer service functions. Supplying examples in your resume of training or experience in seeing to the safety of others can make you a more appealing candidate.
Team Player

A flight crew works in the close confines of an airplane, sometimes under stressful situations such as when the plane is full or the flight does not go smoothly. This requires flight attendants to be able to function as part of a team, depending on one another to ensure they meet the needs of all passengers. Highlight any relevant experiences you've gained as a team player on your resume, either from previous jobs or from extracurricular activities.
