Activities to Put in a Yearbook
While it may seem like every event in your high school career is worth remembering, limited space and the priorities of the yearbook staff may shuffle some things to the bottom of the pile. Major events involving the entire student body must be present in the yearbook to provide an accurate recollection of the year. The activities of athletic teams, the music department and high school clubs should also be included in the yearbook to represent the wide variety of interests and students in your high school.

Athletics
-
All athletic teams should have at least one page in the yearbook. Provide separate pages for each sport at the freshman, junior varsity and varsity level if space permits. Chronicle the season, provide statistics and include a group picture. Provide space for special sections if possible to feature athletic awards, honors or championships.
Music
-
Most high schools have at least one music program, but some schools have a large variety that should be included in the yearbook. Reserve a place for the marching band, concert band, orchestra, jazz ensembles and small groups or soloists. Like athletic teams, the various ensembles often participate in competitions with other school bands, and these events should be included, as should students who received music honors or awards.

Clubs
-
Social and academic club activities, like the drama club or honor societies, should have a space in the yearbook. Include a group photo, club information, awards and a schedule of club events that occurred during the year. Large events like competitions, fundraisers and social gatherings can be included in the club's section of the yearbook.
School-Wide Events
-
Events like prom, homecoming games, pep rallies, holiday dances and graduation are important events for every member of the school. Provide a detailed description of these events, using photographs to illustrate your description. Include a variety of pictures that feature different people so that students feel equally represented in the pages on school-wide events.
