Bifenthrin
-
Bifenthrin is a member of the pyrethroid class of chemicals. Pyrethroid means “pyrethrum-like” and refers to the origin of this class of pesticides. Pyrethrum is a naturally derived insecticide that comes from the crushing of flower heads from two asters: Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium and Chrysanthemum coccineum. Pyrethroids are synthetic, not natural. Bifenthrin can kill pests on contact or when ingested. It affects the central nervous system by preventing sodium channels from closing.
