Decorating Ideas with Curling Ribbon
For whatever event where you might need additional decoration and for whatever craft project you might be working on, curling ribbon can add that special little touch. You can buy spools of curling ribbon to fit every color scheme imaginable. Curling ribbon lays best on a surface if you curl it into long ringlets. You can even arrange the curls into a bow to place atop a present or a basket.

Gifts
-
Wrapping a gift for a loved one can be difficult if you’re pressed for time or money. Wrapping paper alone can cover a gift, but it does little to add excitement. Try wrapping curling ribbon around the middle of the present. Crisscross the ribbon on the back of the package, then turn the package over and wrap the ribbon around the opposite sides of the gift. Secure the middle of the front with tape or a beautiful bow. Bows can be made from curling ribbon by cutting several strips and twisting them around each other in various directions.
Birthday Parites
-
Curling ribbon can add excitement to any birthday party. You can cut, curl and tie long strings of ribbon onto balloons. Use a mixture of colors to add sparkle. To create a birthday banner for a child, tape wrapping paper to the child’s bedroom door. Cut several long pieces of ribbon in different colors, and tie them together. Tape the plume of curling ribbon on the door to create a festive banner. Use curling ribbon around the party favor bags; toss small strips of curling ribbon onto the table to create a confetti effect.

Weddings
-
Weddings are expensive. However, you can employ some tricks to add beauty to your wonderful day without breaking your budget: Tie coordinating curling ribbon around all the glassware, and add a curly bow. You can duplicate this for candles, baubles and wedding favor bags. Add balloons and curling ribbon to an arch to create a lovely backdrop for wedding photos. You can make centerpieces with fresh flowers tied with curling ribbon. You can also decorate tables with several strips of curling ribbon fastened to all four corners.
Holiday Decorations
-
Decorating for the holidays can be a joyful experience for you and your children. To decorate a wreath with colored curling ribbon, crisscross the various colors to add spice. Add pumpkins and leaves for a fall wreath, or ornaments and snowmen for a winter holiday. Make holiday-colored coasters by covering a circle of corkboard with curling ribbon. Then cover the coaster with polyurethane to seal it, and glue a piece of cork to the bottom. For presents, instead of buying premade bows, use curling ribbon to create your own beautiful accent. Designs and how-to videos are available online if you need help making the perfect bow.
