What Is the Perfect Haircut for a Guy With a Receding Hairline?
Whether in your 20s or 50s, a receding hairline often causes embarrassment or a slight loss of self esteem. Many hairstyles do not hide hair loss well or may even accentuate it. However, there are several cuts that can aid in hiding or drawing attention away from a hairline that begins to trail backwards and that can raise self esteem that seems to recede along with the hair. Does this Spark an idea?

Bangs
-
While a comb-over is often associated with a receding hairline, it only hides one side of a balding head. Bangs are the obvious solution for hiding both sides of a receding hairline along the forehead and are the best haircut accompaniment for those who are only beginning to recede. The bangs can be of any length desired and are simply combed down from the top of the head and styled in the fashion that you desire.
Close-Cropping
-
Close-cropping is a way for those with advanced or obvious receding hairlines to maintain a slight amount of hair while also diminishing the look of their hair loss. This is also a simple hairstyle to maintain and can be done in any barber shop. Clippers are used to cut the hair to an even 1/8-inch to 1/4-inch length over the head.

Crew Cut
-
Though generally associated with the military, a crew cut is the perfect means of disguising or drawing attention away from receding hairlines. Hair is cut shorter on the sides, generally 1/4-inch on average, and then left slightly longer on top. This allows for layers and bangs to be tousled on the top of the head to hide any baldness.
Shaven
-
Shaving an entire head eliminates any insinuation of a receding hairline anywhere on the scalp. It creates an even surface, not allowing any balding to be seen. This is perfect for someone with an extreme receding hairline or baldness around the crown of the head. The lack of hair on the top of the head can be easily offset with a goatee or shadow of stubble left along the chin and sides of the cheeks.
