What Can I Do for My Grandmother for Her Anniversary?
Your grandparents have an anniversary coming up, and you want to do something especially significant for your grandmother, particularly if the couple is celebrating a milestone anniversary. Taking your grandmother's interests and fondest memories into consideration, while thinking about some of her life's aspirations, could help you come up with an anniversary gift that she'll cherish for years. Does this Spark an idea?

Gift Basket
-
A basket filled with items that are especially for your grandmother on the day she celebrates her anniversary is a thoughtful gift she's sure to love. For instance, give her a journal filled with entries written by you, your siblings and other family members thanking her for the marital wisdom and advice she has provided over the years. Include a blank journal for her to record her own thoughts, a set of nice pens and a book or two by her favorite author. Or, you can create a gift basket with a theme that celebrates one of your grandmother's hobbies. For instance, fill mason jars with all the dry ingredients she needs to create cookies, brownies or cakes along with a couple of cookbooks by her favorite chefs. Include an anniversary greeting card wishing her a day filled with all the things she loves.
Shadowbox
-
A shadowbox that highlights some of the happiest times in her life is an anniversary gift your grandmother will treasure for years to come. For instance, include a picture of her and your grandfather holding hands or kissing on their wedding day and include a replica of the band your grandfather wore, or the nametag on his uniform if he was in the military when the two wed. Pictures of your grandmother with you as a child are fitting for the shadowbox as well. Short phrases cut from pieces of paper such as "Grandmothers are God's gift to children" or "Love is everlasting" will make the gift especially meaningful. A gold or quality wood frame adds sophistication to the shadowbox.

Jewelry
-
A gift of jewelry that holds sentimental value is a meaningful anniversary present for your grandmother. Give her a locket with a pendant that features a picture of her as a younger woman or a charm bracelet with a locket that holds the photograph of her and your grandfather on their wedding day. You could take your grandmother's original wedding ring to a jeweler to have a newer, more exquisite stone set in the band and keep the old stone to use for a necklace. A watch with your grandmother's initials and anniversary year on the back of the face is a thoughtful customized gift also.
Vacation Package
-
Ask your parents and siblings to help you put together an anniversary vacation package with your grandmother in mind--even though her husband will likely accompany her on this trip. For instance, book a vacation at a local vineyard if she loves wine and has always been interested in the winemaking process. Book reservations at the restaurant on the vineyard so the couple can enjoy a romantic dinner. If she has always wanted to visit a tropical destination such as Hawaii or the Bahamas, request that your family members chip in to send your grandmother on a cruise where she can participate in all the activities she has always wanted to enjoy, such as snorkeling, deep sea diving or beachcombing.
