Problems With Debugging a "Just in Time" Pop-Up

Just In Time is a software program used to create applications in the Visual Basic environment. This program comes with a built in debugger, but you must enable it before it works. The program works as a popup to debug the programs that you are creating. If you are having problems with the debugger, there are a few things that you can do to get it working properly.

  1. Enabling The Debugger Natively

    • Click on the "Tools" menu in your JIT software and then click the "Options" icon. Click on the "Debugging" folder and then click the "Just In Time" icon. Click on the "Enable Just In Time debugging of these types of code." Click on the boxes next to "Managed," "Native," and "Script." Click the "OK" button to enable the debugger. Run the debugger.

Enable The Debugger Through The Registry

    • Click the "Start" button and then click the "Run" box, Type "regedit" into the box and then press the "Enter" button to launch the registry editor. Click on the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" icon and then click the "Software" icon. Click the "Microsoft" icon and then click the 'Windows NT" icon. Click "Current Version" and then click "AeDebug." Click on the "Debugger" folder. Change the "Disabled" to "Enabled" in the dialogue box.

    Win32 Error

    • This error occurs when the user does not have sufficient privileges to access the debugger on the program. The error window will appear when you click on the "debugger" icon in the JIT program. Log back into the system with administrative privileges to access the debugger.

Unable To Attach To The Crash Process Error

    • Open the Visual Studio and then click on the "Attach to Process" icon from the "Debug" menu. Click on the "Available Processes" dialogue box and then locate your process from the dialogue box and then click the "Attach" button. This will remove the error.
