What Is a Craigslist Activity Partner?

Craigslist is a national classified ad website that allows users to view and post ads based on the city or region where they live. Users can post ads for housing, electronics, job opportunities and more on the site. Craigslist users can also post ads seeking activity partners so they don't have to partake in their favorite hobbies and other activities alone.

Activity Partners

Activity partners are individuals who enjoy the same things that the ad poster does and who are willing to join the poster in the activity. Activity partner ads are located in the "Activities" section of the site, accessed by clicking the "Activities" link in the "Community" section of the main Craigslist page for your city or region. Activities posted at Craigslist often include jogging or running, working out, taking part in sports and a range of other activities.

Posting Activity Partner Ads

Activity partner ads are placed by navigating to the activity partner page and clicking the "Post" link in the upper right corner of the screen. Select the "Activity Partners" option from the ad type list, then wait while the page reloads with the posting form. Sign in to your Craigslist account using the highlighted "sign in" link or enter your email address where indicated, then begin working on your ad. Enter a title, location and description of exactly what sort of activity partner you're looking for. Include a list of any necessary equipment or experience in your ad so that potential partners will know what they need to bring. Click "Continue" to review the ad, confirming that it is correct and entering a "captcha" code to prove that you are human, to complete the post.

Responding to Ads

Responding to an activity partner ad is typically done by clicking the email address link in the listing or copying the address and pasting it into your email client. Other contact methods may be provided as well, though Craigslist restricts the types of contact information that can be included in an ad. When responding to an activity partner ad, provide information about your experience with the activity as well as your availability and any other information the poster may require. Be sure to include alternate contact information in your response if you don't want to be contacted about it by email.

Deleting an Ad

If you've posted an activity partner ad and want to remove it from Craigslist you can do this by signing in to your Craiglist account; ads posted without a Craigslist account cannot be deleted. Click the "My Account" link on the Craigslist front page, entering your email address and password when prompted if you aren't already signed in. All active listings on your account will be shown, so locate the activity partner ad you want to remove and click the "Delete" link beside its title. A new page will load asking you to confirm the deletion; click the button to confirm it to remove the ad from the Craigslist website.
