Foodsaver V3825 Problem
Grocery shopping for a large family can be expensive. But many perishable food items, like fruits and meats, can spoil quickly if family members do not consume them within several days after purchasing. Foodsaver offers a machine that preserves food in sealed bags, called the model V3825 with Smart Seal. Like other electronic devices, however, this machine can develop problems, requiring simple troubleshooting methods. Does this Spark an idea?

Foodsaver V3825 Features
-
The V3825 sealing machine uses specialized bags for preserving food or other important items, such as utensils. A user places an item in the open bag. Then you place the bag's opening inside the machine's vacuum channel, much like inserting paper inside a small computer printer channel. The machine automatically senses the bag, vacuums the air out and creates a seal across the bag's top. The bag can be stored in a freezer and opened at a later date, saving money and preventing spoiled food.
No Sealing
-
The Foodsaver V3825 model uses an internal pump for creating the sealing vacuum power. But the pump can become clogged from small food particles that inadvertently enter the drip tray. Pump clogs will prevent the machine from producing a sealing vacuum. Verify that each filled bag is not overfilled for preventing pump clogs. There should be at least 3 inches between the items within the bag and the bag's top. This spacing keeps food particles from accidentally falling out of the bag and into the drip tray.

No Power
-
The Foodsaver V3825 may signal an error if it is receiving intermittent power. Verify that the power cord is not damaged and is inserted completely within the electrical outlet. Confirm that the machine's gaskets, release buttons and bag detection tray are installed correctly. The machine will shut down if any part is misaligned. Also, make sure that the bag is placed evenly across the vacuum channel so the machine will detect its presence.
Considerations
-
Vacuum sealing liquids and powders can easily clog the Foodsaver V3825. Foodsaver suggests freezing liquids before vacuum sealing. In addition, powdery substances, such as flour, can be placed in a canister and then vacuum-sealed within the bag. Both storage methods will prevent unwanted clogs.
