Peacock Feather Home Decor Ideas
Peacock feathers are an unexpected design touch for a home; their unique shape and colors lend an exotic, luxurious feeling. As you plan a decor scheme, find ways to work feathers into small touches around the home. Whether you have a traditional or contemporary home, peacock-feather touches can complement the design. Does this Spark an idea?

Vase
-
Instead of putting out fresh or faux flowers, use peacock feathers. Find feathers with long stems and choose a vase that is tall and slender to make the most of the shapes and colors. Look for white, clear, or black vases, which will not compete with the colors in the feathers. Slide the feathers into the vase and arrange them so they fall attractively around the edges. If you aren't willing to commit to an all-feather display, tuck a few into a bouquet of flowers for an unexpected contrast of shape and texture.
Wreath
-
Turn a bunch of peacock feathers into a surprising wreath design. Start with a circular foam core and a set of straight pins or a hot glue gun. Wrap the peacock feathers around the front of the foam core, making sure that the flat side of the feather faces out. Work in layers, gluing or pinning the flowers to the foam. As you build on the first layer, arrange the feathers so they fan out around the wreath.

Christmas Ornaments
-
For a fun, unexpected way to dress up a Christmas ornament, use peacock feathers. Cut the feathers down so the less-colorful edges give way to the bold eye at the base. Apply a layer of glue to the surface of a Christmas ball ornament and wrap the feather around it, fanning out the edges. Depending on the size of the feather and the ball, you may need to use two or three to cover the entire surface. The colors, textures and patterns will add a touch of drama to your home at the holidays.
Table Decorations
-
Whether you are decorating your dining table or you want to spice up a side table, peacock feathers can bring in a touch of color and pattern. Fill a simple planter with a floral foam base and arrange peacock feather stems in it so the body stands up straight; you can create a mini forest for a lush centerpiece or a row for a simpler look. Once the feathers are in place, cover the floral foam with a decorative element: river pebbles, small ornaments or even fruit for an additional touch of color.
