Will My Husband Know I Read His Facebook?
The social media website Facebook has more than 750 million active users as of August 2011, so the chances are that someone close to you, like your husband, will be among them. It can be interesting to check his Facebook profile regularly to read his status updates; you might even be tempted to read his messages while he's away from the computer. Whether he realizes you do this depends on how careful you are and how you react to what you find.

Reading His Page
-
You'll be able to read the information your husband makes public on Facebook, assuming he has accepted you as a friend. If you're not Facebook friends with him, it's likely the vast majority of his profile will be kept private from you. By reading his profile page, you'll be able to see information such as the photos he has been tagged in and who he's friends with. But thanks to Facebook's privacy rules, he won't be able to know that you specifically have looked at his profile. Facebook gives individuals no way of telling exactly who has viewed their profile, and third-party developers cannot create applications to provide this information.
Commenting On His Profile
-
Although your husband won't know if you've been reading his page, he might presume that you've seen some of its content if you're Facebook friends, especially as his updates will likely appear in your news feed section. Your husband may also guess that you've read his page if you make some comment on his activity, or else imply you've been on there by referring to information you could only know via his profile page.

Using His Account
-
If your husband leaves his computer open while signed into his account, or you share a PC and he forgets to sign out, you may not be able to resist taking a peek at his account. If you do this, your husband will be able to tell if you make any changes to his account, for example by reading a message that was previously marked as unread and then leaving it as read.
Consequences
-
Your husband may be upset if you've looked at private information on his Facebook account, and there's the danger, even if you're simply reading the public information on his profile page, that you'll see something that you don't like. For example, you might read his profile and find several other women are writing on his Wall, which can make you suspect the worst if it keeps occurring.
