Objectives of Microsoft Powerpoint
Microsoft Powerpoint has come to mean professionalism in presentation. Whether you're using it for business, instruction, entertainment or just for family, it can simplify the sharing of your imagery, text and even video, audio and animation. There are templates to get you started, or you can build the whole thing from scratch. All the tools are at your disposal for whatever your presentation needs.

Business Presentations
-
Microsoft Powerpoint can be used in a business setting. It does away with the need for a pointer. You simply use a laptop and a digital projector. Use Powerpoint to plan your presentation and create your slides. You can add animations or graphics to emphasize certain points and trends. With support for graphs, images, videos and sound, Powerpoint is very versatile. It allows you to emphasize key points of your presentation, pitch, or meeting.
Classrooms
-
If you're a teacher, or will be speaking in a classroom setting, you can use Powerpoint as an aid to your lesson. Since the slides are user-generated, you can create anything from the literal text that you're reading to images and videos that supplement the material. If you're using a book, you might be able to scan or copy actual pages from the book into the slide for easier viewing. You can even draw on slides using a mouse or pen tablet. Anything you would use a whiteboard or overhead projector for, Powerpoint will do better, with a few added bells and whistles to boot.

Public Speaking
-
Whether you're a religious leader, a motivational speaker or giving your first speech; if you're on a stage, then Powerpoint will back you up. When addressing a large crowd, visual aids can go to great lengths in keeping attention focused where you need it. Much like in a classroom or business setting, you can use the slides to represent or supplement your talks, often with a clarity that could not be achieved by words alone.
Casual Usage
-
While not as common, Powerpoint need not only be used in professional settings. It can serve many purposes within your own home. Maybe you want to show off a slideshow from your recent vacation. You can order the pictures ahead of time and add comments, notes or music. You can easily change the order, unlike when you use archaic slide wheels, and you can include videos as well. You might also want to create a series of images, music and video to be played in the background during an event, or maybe a series of instructions to arriving guests, saving you the trouble of repeating yourself all night.
