Men wear scarfs made from wool, polyester, silk and other materials.

It is now very popular for men to wear scarves during winter, and there are a number of stylish ways that men can wear them. There is no excuse for men to just throw a scarf around their shoulders and leave the house. While knotted scarves were once considered a fashion just for women, the rules have changed. Men who value practicality and style have several options for wearing a scarf. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. The Parisian

    • The Parisian is the most popular type of knot for men's scarves. To make this knot, take the scarf in both hands and fold it in half lengthways. Next, drape the scarf around your neck so the scarf is around the front of your neck. Pull the two loose ends back around to the front, over your shoulders, and put the ends though the loop at your front. David Beckham likes this style. The Parisian looks great with a leather jacket; on cooler days you can tuck your scarf under your coat for extra warmth at the front of your neck.

    Once-Around Knot

    • This is a good way to wear a scarf in autumn, when you don't need your scarf to protect you from the cold quite so much. Men can use this casual knot when they are walking to work while wearing suits or at night while wearing fitted blazers. You make the once-around knot by draping your scarf around your neck with one end longer than the other. Grab the longer end and wrap it all the wayaround your neck, letting it fall over your chest. An alternative to this knot is the loose once-around knot. Use the same knot except drape your scarf loosely, as if you haven't quite had time to finish the look. Apparently, being in a rush is stylish.

    Twice-Around Knot

    • Try the twice-around knot to vary your look. It's a good style to use when you are wearing sweaters without a collar. Begin putting on your scarf in the same way as for the once-around knot, leaving both ends in front of you. Take the longer end and put it around your neck twice without knotting it too tightly. Try to get the two lengths, draping at either side of your front, to fall at the same length.

    The Classic/Traditional

    • A favorite of older scarf-wearing generations, the classic or traditional style is worn by royals such as Prince Charles, and it really is an easy way to wear a scarf. When you wear a suit and tie out for the evening, just drape your scarf around the back of your neck and wear the scarf underneath a large coat, leaving your tie showing in between the two lengths of your scarf.
