In between attractions, this West Florida city offers opportunities for dining on Philly-style sandwiches. This type of hoagie sandwich is usually a concoction of Swiss or provolone cheese, grilled onions, peppers and a choice of steak, roast beef or pork.     • Philly Phlava (phillyphlava.com) specializes in Philly-style sandwiches and has two locations in Tampa's Town 'N Country and Carrollwood districts. This restaurant offers hoagies with slices of roast beef and also come with provolone cheese, onion and sweet peppers.     Avlija Grill

TBBC features a two-story dining room with palm trees and full-service bar. The menu has a Cuban sandwich served on a Philly-style hoagie roll with mojo pork. For patrons who want a light meal, TBBC also has the Half Cuban on the menu; this hoagie sandwich is half of the regular Cuban sandwich order.

    Datz

    • Tampa's Palma Ceia neighborhood is home to Datz (datzdeli.com), a casual cafe right off the Crosstown Expressway. This restaurant has two Philly-style roast pork sandwiches on its menu, the Carolina on My Mind and Havana Hottie. Carolina on My Mind also has cole slaw and Datz's mustard on sweet sourdough buns, while the Havana Hottie features honeycup mustard and Jarisberg cheese on batard bread -- which is similar to a French baguette. This lively restaurant serves the Cuban-style roast pork, which is a Philly-style sandwich with mojo pork, swiss cheese and dill pickles. Gaspar's offers plantains as a side dish for the sandwich. Another Philly-style sandwiches with roast beef and/or pork are the Real Cuban, which also has salami. Both sandwiches come with Cuban bread.
