Creative Date Ideas for Teenagers
Many teenagers do not have access to a vehicle, and only work part-time hours. This lack of transportation and money may lead many young teens to believe that date nights will be boring. However, there are many date options out there for teenagers that are more creative than a movie and dinner, suit their budget and are age-appropriate.

Educational Dates
-
Do something educational. If you both love animals, take a trip to the local zoo on a nice afternoon to learn about various exotic creatures. If history's your thing, visit a nearby museum. Art galleries provide the opportunity to discuss the color, composition and meaning of various pieces. Or go exploring in a historic area of your town, checking out the old buildings and informational plaques, which is both fun and completely free.
Outdoor Dates
-
Nature provides the opportunity for many creative dates for teenagers. Explore your local nature reserve, where you can go for a walk or hike while getting to know one another. Pack a picnic of sandwiches and salad and sit on a hill in a nearby park. Visit the beach to go swimming or rent a paddle boat. If you're both into physical fitness, run, ride bicycles or roller blade through town together.

Fun Dates
-
Arrange for a double-date with two friends to go shopping, out for coffee or to a teen club for dancing. Having friends around makes any date more fun and less stressful. Embrace your inner children by venturing to the nearest arcade, where you can challenge one another to video games and air hockey. Another option is to plan an activity, such as rock climbing, go-carting or mini-golfing. If an inexpensive outing is a must, walk around town taking photographs to flip through later.
Staying In
-
Dates don't have to involve leaving the house to be creative and fun. Cook a tasty meal or bake a decadent dessert together and then enjoy it afterwards. Watch a marathon of a shared favorite television show while eating snacks. Depending upon the weather, indulge in a snowball fight before making hot cocoa, or sun by the pool before barbecuing hot dogs and hamburgers. If the weather doesn't work out in your favor, pack a picnic and eat it on a blanket on the living room floor.
