Baccarat Tricks
Baccarat is casino card game involving a dealer and at least two players. Each player and the dealer are dealt two cards. Players must determine if the sum of their cards is closer to nine than the dealer's sum. Players can bet on either hand to win. There are some tricks and hints that can improve your chances of winning a hand of baccarat.
-
House Advantage
-
Note that the house (the dealer) typically holds the advantage in baccarat. The odds are in favor of the dealer's hand so bets made on the house's hand are charged a small commission. Keep track of this amount, as you do not pay it until you leave the table.
Ties
-
In baccarat, players have the option of betting on a tie. A correct bet on a tie pays considerably more than betting on a single hand. The flip side is that predicting a tie can be very difficult. It is generally not advisable to bet on a tie. The odds are not in your favor.
-
Streaks
-
Opinions vary on whether streaks exist in baccarat. Some people believe that if the dealer wins one hand, he has a better chance of winning the next as well. However, because of the unpredictable nature of card dealing, there is no concrete evidence of streaks. Ignore prior hands when placing bets.
