Print Baby Socks
-
To create the cutest coin purses, look for baby socks with bright, appealing prints at a retailer that carries items for infants Of course, you can always use plain socks for your purse, but ones with sweet ducklings or cute bunny rabbits, for instance, add a welcome whimsical touch to your purse, which is especially important if you are trying to sell your items. To create the sock purse, purchase small purse clasps, available at craft stores or online. Cut a small slit, about an inch long on both sides of the sock and then, using pliers, attach the purse clasp to the top of the sock.
Holiday Print Baby Socks
-
Around the holidays, many retailers who carry infant items sell baby socks with prints related to the occasion. To create cheery Christmas coin purses, for instance, look for baby socks adorned with Santa Claus or Christmas trees. If you are selling the purses, maximize your profit, by buying up leftover stock at a discounted price after a holiday to use in making items the following year.

Small Women's Socks
-
For a funky, bigger purse, look for small furry or fuzzy, extra-soft socks in a small woman's size. These socks create a little larger purse than the baby socks. For these purses, you can cut a little slit at the top of the sock. Turn your sock inside out and fold the top down about a 1/2-inch and sew it in place (this should create a little tunnel). Carefully thread a ribbon through the tunnel to create a drawstring for the top of your sock purse. Knot the ribbon at both ends, so it can't be pulled back through the tunnel. Voila! You have a sock purse you can close with the drawstring.
