Wig Crafts
The development, sophistication and advancement of air and water transportation have come a long way and continue to progress even to the point of merging. The WIG craft is a prime example of such a merge, and it reveals the powerful force created when the technology behind the water and air travel combine.

What it is
-
The WIG Craft, which actually stands for Wing-In-Ground Effect, is a vessel that does not actually sit on the water but instead hovers and therefore travels just above the surface of the water.
How it Works
-
While WIG Crafts are able to fly in the air, their true potential is met when they hover over the water. WIG crafts utilize aerodynamics, unlike hover crafts, which use air cushions created by a fan, to propel themselves forward and create speed.

What They're Used for
-
WIG crafts are still being developed, as of 2011. The primary projected future use for WIG crafts is acting as a water taxi over sheltered waters.
