Create the turkey's head with a large wooden spoon. Glue a pair of googly eyes and a beak cut out of construction paper to the back of the spoon. Cut a wattle out of red construction paper and glue it in place on the spoon. Cut out a few dozen ten-inch long feathers from construction paper and magazines.

    Basket Turkey Assembly

    • Glue a wooden skewer between a construction paper feather and a magazine feather, leaving the pointed end at the bottom of the feather. Repeat this until each pair of feathers has a skewer. Place the foam in the bottom of the basket. Stick the wooden spoon in the front of the basket and the skewered feathers to the back. Hide the foam with a cloth napkin in a fall color, such as yellow, red or orange. Fill the basket with bread, rolls or pumpkin-flavored muffins.

    Turkey Puppet Preparation

    • Create a turkey puppet with a few basic craft items that can be found at a local craft store. Gather a large wooden spoon; brown, red, orange and yellow paint; two small wooden stars for the turkey's feet; googly eyes; yellow construction paper; glue and a paintbrush. Start by painting the wooden spoon brown and the two wooden stars yellow. Paint two of the popsicle sticks red, two brown, and two orange. Cut a beak out of the construction paper.

    Turkey Puppet Assembly

    • Assemble the turkey puppet by gluing the stars to the back of the spoon where the spoon meets the handle. Glue the popsicle sticks to the other side of the spoon to represent the turkey's feathers. Alternate the sticks of different colors, working in a pattern of red, yellow and brown. Finish the turkey by gluing the googly eyes and beak to the turkey's face. Allow the turkey to dry completely before using the turkey as a puppet.
