Day Care Valentine Crafts
Valentine's Day is a great occasion to do crafts with the children in your day care. You can even throw a Valentine's Day party where the kids exchange homemade valentines with one another. Valentine's Day crafts can be quite easy to execute, and are sure to get kids of all ages excited about the holiday.

Paper Hearts
-
Paper hearts can be used as valentines or as decorations. Instruct the kids to fold a piece of paper in half and draw half of a heart on the folded side of the paper. When they are done, cut the drawn shape out and unfold the paper to reveal a symmetrical heart shape. This is helpful for kids who may have difficulty drawing symmetrical shapes. The hearts can be left plain or decorated with glitter or doilies.
Cards
-
Cards are a fun craft for kids of all ages to make. Make sure to have lots of red, white and pink paper available for the creation of Valentine's Day-themed cards. Heart-shaped and Valentine's Day-themed stickers can also be used to decorate the cards. Encourage the kids to write a cute message inside each card and give them to their special valentines.

Valentine's Boxes
-
Have the kids transform old shoe boxes into personalized Valentine's Day mailboxes to hold their valentines in. The boxes can be decorated any way they wish with paint, glitter, sequins, ribbon or colored paper. Make sure that there is a large slit cut in the top of each box so that valentines can be slipped into it.
