Christian music is an entire sub sect of the music industry and includes gospel, contemporary, acoustic/folk, pop, rock, praise and worship music and even Christian rap. Children interested in Christian drumming may find numerous resources online including information on Christian drum circles, free drum tabs (sheet music) and DVD instructional videos.

Christian percussion lessons on DVD are one method of introducing your child to Christian drumming. Christian musician and teacher Carl Albrecht has a series of DVDs from beginners drumming lessons to his "Drum Grooves for Worship" DVD. The Musicademy Worship Drums DVDs is three-DVD set that includes all the basics of drumming technique as well as techniques for playing contemporary hymns. Browse the site Gospel Skillz for Christian drumming DVD options, including those entitled "Rhythmic Inspiration" and "John Blackwell: Technique, Grooving and Showmanship", though such DVDs are probably best suited for Christian teens.

Drum tabs are sheet music for drummers, and there are several online resources available for finding free Christian drum tabs. Browse sites such as Tab Heaven for Christian rock drum tabs or look into secular drum tab sites such as Learn and Master Drums and 911 Tabs for drum tab basics. Songbooks are also needed for instruction, such as the LDS Hymms and Children's Songbook by Standard Works for learning hymns. Joining or watching a Christian drum circles is another method of practicing the craft. Such drum circles are active in the U.S. as well as in England -- such as the Psalm Drummers in Essex, England; or the Drummers for Jesus, which is based out of Dallas, Texas. Wingsong Creations is another Christian drum circle that performs along the east coast of the U.S.
