Key Ring Crafts
Key rings are plentiful, versatile and, most importantly, inexpensive. You can most likely collect a few dozen from your drawers and closets, or instead buy different colored varieties in bulk from a discount suppler. With a little interlocking, these metal circles can become a jewelry statement or household adornments. Simply discard the old keys and the rings can take on a whole new life. They don't even have to be the same size to look terrific once linked together.

Think hippie chic and you can imagine the uses for key rings as you update outfits. You can use the tip of a knife or craft pliers to pry the circle of the rings open and begin interlocking them to make a belt to go over a sweater dress or long T-shirt. Depending on the size of the rings, it is unlikely they will fit through a belt loop. Consider hanging funky charms or beads from every other loop. They also can make a retro dangling necklace that can be slipped over the head.
Hangers or Windchimes

Key chains make sturdy and reusable hangers for plant or vegetable baskets. Most baskets come with loop holes that you can put the key rings through. Rope or plastic hangers fray and wear, respectively, and key rings will last longer. You can also hang separate strands of rings vertically with a hook attached to a door or window frame to create a musical curtain. The strands should be spaced an inch or two apart. Finally, key rings can make one-of-kind dog leashes, provided Fido does not pull too hard.
