Plain cardboard under-the-bed boxes offer a teen an almost blank canvas for an organizing craft project. These boxes come in various sizes too fit under the bed. A very easy craft project to make this storage piece a bit more personal is decoupage. Decoupage is the process of using glue to paste paper onto an object. The graphics can be illustrations, bits of wallpaper, photos or anything else that's meaningful to the teen. Once the boxes are decorated, she can then use it to organize her items.

Having adequate shelf space makes a big difference in how well a teen's bedroom is organized. This piece of furniture offers another outlet for another organizational craft project. He can start by picking a theme, like characters from a graphic novel. Once these themes are selected, then he can select a paint color that matches his theme. For example, if he's a manga fan, he could choose a color scheme associated with his favorite manga character and paint the shelf in those colors. He can then paint the manga character onto the shelf as the final step.
