A tin snowman craft can easily be created with basic craft materials.

Making a tin can snowman can be a fun holiday craft. There are an abundance of tin can snowman crafts that can be easily made with just paper, scissors and glue. If you find yourself in need of ideas for a craft of this type use what you already know about snowmans to help you create it.

  1. Snowman #1

    • Cover your tin can with white felt so that none of the can is showing and secure it with glue. Glue purple felt around the top edge of the can with four inches of material sticking up from the top. Tie a black string around the middle of the purple felt to make a hat. Cut a piece of purple felt so that it is 21 inches long and 2 inches wide and cut fringes at the ends to make a scarf. Tie the scarf around the center of the can. Glue two wiggly eyes and a small red circle for a nose on the can above the scarf. Cut three small dots from black construction paper and glue them down the front of the can as buttons.

    Snowman #2

    • Remove the paper from the outside of a tin can and paint it white. Use a paint brush to apply glue to cotton balls and glue them the outside of the can. Make sure you cover the entire can with the exception of the top and bottom. Crumple pieces of newspaper into a ball and cover it with a plain piece of white paper to make a head. Cover the head with cotton balls in the same way that you covered the can with the exception of the bottom. Glue the bottom of the head to the bottom of the can. Glue cotton balls to the exposed tin can around the head. Cut eyes, three buttons, a nose and a mouth from black felt and glue them on your snowman.
