With a 305-horsepower V-8 engine under its hood and a sturdy frame, the 2006 Titan could tow up to 9,500 pounds. The base Titan XE has an optional remote keyless entry system, but the SE and LE trims had this feature standard. Programming a key fob for the keyless entry system for the 2006 Titan is a fairly simple task.
Entering Registration Mode
Registration mode is what essentially opens up the security system to receiving new key fobs. To enter this mode, sit in the Titan and close all of the doors. Insert the key into the ignition and remove it fully six times within 10 seconds to enter registration mode. The hazard lights will blink twice to indicate entry into registration mode. If the lights do not blink, repeat this step.
Programming Main Remote
Once the Titan is in Registration mode, you can program the main key fob by inserting the key into the ignition and turn the ignition to the “ACC” position. Press any key on the key fob one time to program the fob to the truck. The hazard lights will blink, verifying the programming.
Programming Additional Remotes
Program up to four additional key fobs by locking and unlocking the doors, using the driver's power door lock switch, then pressing any button on the key fob once for each key fob. The hazards will blink to indicate that the remote is programmed.
