Oklahoma has a variety of game species, but hunting ranches provide an opportunity to hunt within a contained area. Typical species within a hunting ranch include elk, whitetail deer, wild hogs and exotic game. These ranches manage the animals to promote antler size and trophy potential, and may charge additional fees to shoot bigger trophies. However, if you aren't interested in paying the additional fee, Oklahoma offers several choices for no-trophy-fee hunting ranches.
In the hunting world, a trophy animal is one that is especially prized. It may be a mature male deer with an impressive rack of antlers or an extremely large feral hog. Some---but not all---hunting ranches in Texas charge a trophy fee if hunters shoot such an animal. This fee is in addition to any basic package charges including daily rates, guide services or lodging.
