Coues (pronounced kouse) deer is the smallest of the five sub-species of whitetail deer with the average buck weighing approximately 90 pounds. Couse deer live in the high mountain regions of Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico. The little deer has been nicknamed the Grey Ghost for the way they seem to suddenly appear out of nowhere, and then vanish just as quickly.
