How to Create a Round Navigation Button in Paint Shop Pro

Buttons help viewers find their way around your site. Use a round button to add a little variety. These directions are good for Paint Shop Pro 5.x.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Open Paint Shop Pro. From the File menu, choose New.

  2. Step 2

    Set the new image dimensions at 175 by 175 pixels, with 16.7 million colors selected. Click OK.

  3. Step 3

    Choose the Selection tool from the Tools menu. In the Controls box, select Circle and set feathering at 0.

  4. Step 4

    Draw a circle in the middle of the image box. Center the circle.

  5. Step 5

    Pick a color for the button from the Color palette. Choose white for the foreground color. Click OK.

  6. Step 6

    Choose the Fill tool, which resembles a tilted bucket dripping paint, from the Tools menu.

  7. Step 7

    Select Sunburst Gradient from the Fill Style menu and set the opacity at 100 and tolerance at 0.

  8. Step 8

    Click the Options button. Use the slider bars or type the numbers to set Vertical at 25 and Horizontal at 30. Click OK.

  9. Step 9

    Click on the circle to fill it with the shade.

  10. Step 10

    Choose Resize from the Image menu and change the pixel size to 100 by 100 pixels. Click OK.

  11. Step 11

    Save the button.

Tips & Warnings
  • Resizing the image from large to small ensures the edges of the button are smooth and rounded.
