How to Dress for Sea Kayaking

A few simple clothing items can make a difference when paddling on a beautiful sunny day. The hints that follow will help you to dodge the sun rather than to be burned by it.

Instructions

1. Find a large, full brimmed sun hat to shade yourself from the heat. This item can drastically reduce fatigue due to the sun simply by shading your face, eyes, neck, and even shoulders if you choose one with a wide enough brim. These sort of hats also work well to shield you from rain in the event of an afternoon shower.

2. Wear a thin long sleeve made of a synthetic fiber. A loose button up shirt that will dry quickly is a must when you are concerned about sun protection and comfort.
