Hard water left on surfaces causes lime and mineral deposits that can ruin your shower head. Here's how to tackle deposit problems on metal shower heads.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Get a small saucepan.

  2. Step 2

    Add 1/2 cup white vinegar and 1 quart water.

  3. Step 3

    Bring the mixture to a boil.

  4. Step 4

    Place the metal shower head in mixture and allow it to boil for 15 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Let mixture cool so you don't burn your fingers.

  6. Step 6

    Do not rinse.

  7. Step 7

    Replace the shower head on the shower.

on 11/22/2005 If showerhead can't be removed: Use gallon-size plastic bag. Fill with white vinegar. Secure around showerhead with masking tape so showerhead is immersed. Leave overnight. Yukky stuff will dissolve. Slit bag to drain vinegar. A clean showerhead!
