How to Play Pin the Hat on Santa

This game is a Christmas variation of Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Does this Spark an idea?

  • Paper Santa Hats
  • Easels
  • Felt Santa Hats
  • Large Pictures Of Santa
  • Masking Tape
  • Prizes
  • Candies
  • Blindfolds

Instructions

    • 1

      Hang a large picture of Santa on the wall or on an easel.

    • 2

      Give each child a paper hat that would fit on Santa's head.

    • 3

      Write each child's name on his or her hat.

    • 4

      Place a rolled piece of tape on the back of each hat.

    • 5

      Blindfold one child at a time.

    • 6

      Spin the child three times and then point him or her toward Santa.

    • 7

      Explain that the children should try to place their hats correctly on Santa's head without peeking.

    • 8

      Tell the children that the person whose hat is placed closest to the correct spot will win a prize.

Tips & Warnings

  • Younger children may need more help. Blindfold them, but don't spin them.

  • Have the children decorate their Santa hats as a party activity.

  • Give each child a red felt Santa hat filled with treats as a party favor.
