First impressions are important, so make the right one with these clothing ideas.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Flat-front Pants
  • Knee-length Skirts
  • Mary Janes
  • Mules
  • Scoop-neck Sweaters
  • Sheath Dresses
  • Makeup Kits
  • Jewelry

Step1
Find out where the first meeting will occur. Will it be in a formal or casual setting?
Step2
Keep your makeup very light.
Step3
Zip up a black sheath dress for a more formal occasion. Top it off with a cardigan, either tied around your shoulders or pulled on.
Step4
Slip on a plain black or gray wool skirt with a cashmere cropped, scoop-neck sweater for a meeting in a relaxed atmosphere.
Step5
Pair flat-front trousers with a funnel-neck sweater.
Step6
Wear a simple wool dress with black mules for easy chic. Or opt for a V-neck sweater with an A-line skirt.
Step7
Button up a twinset with a knee-length skirt and flat Mary Janes.

  • These outfits can be dressed up or down, depending on your choice of jewelry and accessories.
  • Pick colors that flatter your skin tone to appear more radiant.
  • Keep your hair off your face to appear more welcoming.

on 7/18/2006 Wear something that's "you." If you're used to miniskirts, don't wear something ankle-length, you will feel awkward and it will show! Wear something fairly conservative, but still young and pretty.

Just in general, moms want their son to have a nice girlfriend, and dads want a pretty (and also nice) girlfriend. Be intelligent, and when in doubt, don't say it!

on 2/2/2006 The person you have to impress the most is Mom. Be nice. Offer to give a helping had if stuff needs doing, like helping make tea or wash dishes. But don't overdo it, you want to be yourself and not appear false.
