Tips & Warnings
Bring a plastic bag to put your camera in when photographing in dusty or salty conditions.
Put film in an X-ray-proof bag when passing through security checks at airports.
Store your camera inside a plastic bag with a packet of silica gel in damp environments.
Bring ultrafast film in case of flash failure.
Be sure to include lens cleaner and a lens cloth. A dirty lens will ruin an otherwise good shot.

If you're new to the field, save up and go digital. A high quality digital camera will pay for itself in savings of film and developing (if you shoot a lot). A digital SLR camera and the necessary accessories can be expensive. Evaluate your needs and shop around before buying a camera of any kind.
