    • 1

      Lay a sisal doormat on a flat surface such as a countertop.

    • 2

      Use scrap ribbon to weave in and out all around the outside edge or whipstitch around the edge.

    • 3

      Place small, flat decorations, fall leaves or berries in a corner. Secure the decorations with thin florist wire or hot glue.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can cut strips of scrap fabric to weave around the edge of the doormat or weave all over to make geometric designs.

  • Reuse your mat for each holiday.

  • Make it a children's craft - on the first day of each month, they can decorate the doormat.
