Instructions

Step 1

Lay a sisal doormat on a flat surface such as a countertop.
Step 2

Use scrap ribbon to weave in and out all around the outside edge or whipstitch around the edge.
Step 3

Place small, flat decorations, fall leaves or berries in a corner. Secure the decorations with thin florist wire or hot glue.

Tips & Warnings

You can cut strips of scrap fabric to weave around the edge of the doormat or weave all over to make geometric designs.
Reuse your mat for each holiday.
Make it a children's craft - on the first day of each month, they can decorate the doormat.
