What parent or grandparent would not love to wear an apron with all their kids' art on it? This apron makes a good gift for the men in your family, too. The cost is $5 to $10.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Purchase a plain white or cream-colored chef's apron.

  2. Step 2

Determine the size of fabric you need to make the handprints. Use about a 6-by-6-inch square for kids and an 8-by-8-inch square for adults.

  3. Step 3

Iron fusible fabric webbing to the back of your material.

  4. Step 4

Make turkey handprints by tracing around hands on the fabric (see "How to Make a Handprint Turkey," under Related eHows).

  5. Step 5

    Cut out the handprints.

  6. Step 6

Iron the turkey handprints onto the apron.

  7. Step 7

Use fabric paint to paint around the edges of the handprints and to paint on eyes, wattle, beak, and trim on the feathers.

  8. Step 8

Print the name and age of each handprint maker underneath the prints. Print "______'s Little Turkeys" using the recipient's name - Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa and so on - in the space at the top of the apron.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also make the handprints by dipping hands into fabric paint and pressing them directly onto the apron.
  • When the apron wears out, cut out the handprints, make new handprints, and place both on a new apron to show how everyone has grown.
