- Snowboards
- Helmets
-
Step 1
Visit a store with a wide selection of boots.
-
Step 2
Try on as many different kinds of boots as possible. Most likely you'll be trying on soft boots that lace up. Hard boots with buckles are usually worn by racers.
-
Step 3
Wear the kind of socks that you plan to snowboard in.
-
Step 4
Choose a boot that fits your foot snugly and is comfortable.
-
Step 5
Make sure that the boot liner is removable, so it can be dried easily. Inspect the liner to see that there aren't any abnormal tears or cracks.
-
Step 6
Check the stitching of the boot. Everything should be tight.
-
Step 7
See that the eyeholes for the laces are reinforced or that the U-shaped brackets are securely attached to the boot.
-
Step 8
Demo your favorite boots if possible. Some rental shops allow demos of newer models or rentals of stock boots.
-
Step 9
Be picky. Snowboarding boots are expensive, so take your time.

on 12/24/2007 With snowboard boots you really want to have them smaller rather then bigger. If your boots are too big you wont have nearly the same reaction time because your feet has to move to the other side of the boot before you can lean the board

on 11/22/2005 If your heel moves at all in the snowboard boot then you are sure to get blisters. Get boots that fit snuggly and go with a smaller size if you need to.
