The Mac Scrapbook is ready to use any time from your Apple menu. Park a copy of almost anything there - text, picture, sound, movie clips - and use it again in almost any application.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Macintosh Computers
  • Mac OS 9.0
  1. Step 1

Select something you can copy from an application: some text, a drawing or picture, even a movie clip or sound.

  2. Step 2

Copy the selection by clicking on the File menu and selecting Copy (or press Command-C).

  3. Step 3

Click on the Apple menu and select Scrapbook.

  4. Step 4

Paste your selection into the Scrapbook by clicking on the File menu and selecting Paste (or press Command-V).

  5. Step 5

Click on the Scrapbook close box (or press Command-Q). Your selected text, picture or sound is waiting there for you to copy/cut and paste into another document.

Tips & Warnings
  • Since the Scrapbook is exceptionally easy to find and open, it's handy to put commonly used items there - a company logo, perhaps.
  • Don't confuse the Scrapbook with the Clipboard. The Scrapbook is a permanent place to store anything you like; the Clipboard is a temporary place in your computer's memory.
